A. Yes. The stories, such as the "The Lion and the Giraffe," has a underlying moral theme and a full week lesson plan here, Lesson Plan.

Q. Do you travel?

A. Yes. It is my hope that the messages and excitement can be shared with all who can benefit from Lyndale's presence.

Q. Why Lyndale the Literary Lion?

A. Lyndale the Literary Lion was created to convey literacy skills because according to the 2005 National Center for Education Statistics report, "Two-thirds of students who don't learn to read proficiently by the end of the 4th grade will end up in jail or on welfare."

According to Childrens Defense Fund Cradle to Prison Campaign "Studies have shown that children who do not get the early intervention, permanence and stability they need are more likely to act out and fail in school because they lack the skills necessary to succeed."

So, this is JammerTime's way of trying to break the cycle. More importantly, Lyndale helps to break down the barriers children erect when adults are trying to teach. First the children laugh, then they learn that books and reading is really FUN.

Q. How much are your programs?

A. The program itself we believe is invaluable but because gas, food and sometimes lodging is needed contact us for exact price. Travel Rates

Q. Is any special equipment or setup requirements needed for a program?

A. No. All Lyndale needs is a stage or nice size area and a excited audience. A bottle or two of water would also help.

What people are saying:

We had a great year with the super successful Lion Hunt Parent Literacy Events at Dallas Public Libraries, Dallas Independent Schools and Dallas Park and Recreation facilities.  The Lion Hunt events were attended by and served over 1400 children and their families!  Of course we owe KERA, AVANCE-Dallas, Dallas ISD, Dallas Association for Parent Education (DAPE), Big Thought, Dr. Denise Collins, Raquel Washington and of course Clifford and Lyndale the Literary Lion a very big thank you! They made sure that families had a fun-filled day of learning while bringing the Lion Hunt to life with stories, music, the recreation of the actual lion hunt, crafts, and parent education classes.   Partners for Children Lion Hunt Parent Literacy Events
